Uttarapath Sewa Sanstha

Uttarapath Sewa Sanstha (USS) is a Pithoragarh; Uttarakhand based grass root development organization ; Registered on 05th April, 2002 under Societies Registration Act 1860 as NGO;. promoted by a group of development professionals & social activists with a feeling to serve marginalized and deprived community and the rich natural resources and biodiversity of the Himalayan area need to be conserved by introducing alternative livelihood resouces. Since then organization has been working with the dual objectives of conservation and empowerment of marginal communities through enterprise development The strategy of USS is to assist village communities in the rural areas of Himalaya in conserving their natural resources and biodiversity while developing economic opportunities by promoting traditional livelihood activities and non-timber forest product based enterprises. Utilization of natural resources in an equitable, economically and environmentally sustainable manner is ensured by building capacities of community based organizations so that the could have managerial control over resources.
